How to Change the URL of a Quiz on Sporcle

Once a quiz has been contributed, its URL cannot be changed directly. This limitation is in place to preserve the integrity of shared links and published content. However, there is a workaround if you need to adjust the URL for clarity or branding purposes.

Workaround: Change the URL via Copy

Take the original quiz offline Go to your quiz dashboard and select Edit → Status → Private or Hidden. Make a copy of the quiz Use the Duplicate option to create a new version of your quiz. This will allow you to edit the quiz title and generate a new URL. Edit the title (affects the URL) When editing the duplicated quiz, adjust the title before launching it. The URL is generated based on the title at the time of creation. Publish the new version Once you’re happy with the updated quiz and its new URL, contribute it as normal. The old version can remain unpublished or be deleted.

⚠️ Keep in mind: Your dashboard will still display the original quiz with its original URL, even if you no longer use it.
