What Are Quiz Helpers?

Quiz Helpers are in-game features in the Sporcle app that assist you while playing quizzes. You’ll see them marked by a yellow “?” icon during gameplay. Tapping this icon will pause the quiz and show you available helpers.

These helpers cost Florins (Sporcle’s virtual currency), and each one gives you a different kind of hint or support:

Peekaboo

Reveals the first letter of every answer, giving you a nudge in the right direction.

Inspector

Shows a dash (-) for each character in every answer, so you know how many letters you’re working with.

Exterminator

For questions with 3–4 answer buttons, Exterminator removes one incorrect option across all relevant hints in the quiz.

Trickster

Provides a correct answer — ideal for when you’re completely stuck.

You can decide when and how to use them, depending on the quiz and your strategy. Each helper is designed to make tricky moments more manageable and fun.

Quiz Helpers are not available in Challenges, Tournaments, or Showdowns to ensure fair competition.
